Janet Milner has a BA in Printed Textiles from Liverpool Polytechnic (1981) and an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Art (2012). Janet worked for more than 20 years in design and illustration for a list of clients including Conran, Heals, Liberty, Harvey Nichols, John Lewis, Mitchell Beazley, Barneys and Nieman Marcus USA and Seibu Japan.

Janet works primarily with monotypes, loving their immediacy and the opportunity for accidental markmaking. Her work is a celebration of ordinariness, a reflection of her fascination with the commonality of clutter and the mundane experiences that surround identity and human life. Throwaway remarks and objects are presented in an intriguing way.
